Since launching in April 1990, Hubble has sent back some of the most famous pictures ever taken of deep space. Now you can build its silhouette yourself: one steel sheet, solar panels and all, folded into a compact desk model that looks far more intricate than the effort involved.

What’s in the box

• 1 laser-cut steel sheet holding every part, ready to snip free
• Illustrated step-by-step instructions

How it builds

• Snip each part from the sheet, then bend its tabs through the matching slots to lock it in place
• No glue, solder or paint required
• A single sheet, but rated Moderate the solar arrays and fine tabs reward a steady hand
• Fine cutters and tweezers or needle-nose pliers make life much easier (not included)

Perfect for the space nerd who has everything, or sat next to the James Webb kit for a then-and-now pair of great observatories.

Recommended for ages 14+. See the rest of the Metal Earth space kits, and grab some precision hobby tools if you haven’t got a decent pair of cutters yet.
