Arcana Unleashed Deadfall: Dungeons & Dragons

Deep in the Forgotten Realms sits Thay, and at the centre of it the lich Szass Tam, quietly assembling something the rest of the world will not survive. Deadfall is a magical spy thriller rather than a dungeon crawl fragile alliances, information traded in the dark, and the growing certainty that the Red Wizards are several moves ahead of you. This one has been a long time coming, and it was worth the wait.

How it plays

• Built for high-level play character levels 11 to 20
• Enchanted espionage and clandestine missions over straight monster-bashing
• Thay and the Red Wizards as the backdrop, with Szass Tam as the endgame
• A demonic undead horde waiting on the other side of failure

Best for

• Groups whose campaign has outgrown goblins and needs a villain with reach
• Players who enjoy intrigue, leverage and knowing when not to draw a sword
• DMs after a high-level campaign that holds together properly at the top end

High-level D&D is notoriously hard to run well. This one gives you a villain worth the levels and a plot that rewards players for thinking rather than just casting bigger.
