Metal Earth – Mars Rover

Modelled on NASA’s twin Mars Exploration Rovers, Spirit and Opportunity, which touched down on the red planet in January 2004. Six wheels, rocker-bogie suspension, a camera mast and solar deck and every bit of it comes from two steel sheets with no glue required.

What’s in the box

• 2 laser-cut steel sheets holding every part, ready to snip free
• Illustrated step-by-step instructions

How it builds

• Snip each part from the sheet, then bend its tabs through the matching slots to lock it in place
• No glue, solder or paint required
• Rated Challenging lots of small parts, so take your time
• Two sheets
• Fine cutters and tweezers or needle-nose pliers make life much easier (not included)

Pure joy for anyone who followed the rover missions, and a satisfying build for someone ready to step up from the easier kits.
